Wombat Ride report

Unfortunately I have been too busy too attend OTR meetings early in the year, and this is when shit happens to you with out your say (there's a moral to that somewhere, get your arses to a meeting/ a good fun night)) and so the date of the ride was bought forward

No problems I said to the new trail boss (xmas) a quick phone call to the the other official Wombat leader/pre rider in Super

When we did the pre ride and it was awesome, it caught Noz and I out with nude rear tyres, it was that wet

Then the 4 day weather forcast hits prior to the ride, and Sunday is going to be a scorcher (that means #@!* HOT ).I do not ride when its hot let a loan organise one but a call to xmas to cancel was all in vain “the show must go on” he mumbles, as he sits in Canberra on holidays looking in the phone book getting addresses to buy porn, Oh yeah it was fire works he wanted (yeah riiiiiiight)

Sunday came along forecast is 30 +

Turkey (thanks for food) and myself rock up, and then another dude not looking the freshest , came over to get the scoop on the days proceedings, we find out he rode his bike there from Freshwater Creek Holy crap what an effort and he is now known as “roadie”

So we got about 24 riders from memories and Super did the honors of leading with myself taking the less experienced riders on a less challenging route (this is known as the wombats and warriors if you have not attended)

The day went pretty smooth Bottles did not even get to ride someone elses bike up any of the hills (not from lack of trying) and at the very end Super has found this awesome single track that I had not ridden, what a hoot

Using the Wombat&Warrior method and the small numbers, we where in Blackwood 2 hours prior to normal and ended the ride at about 3.30pm at Greendale, this was the hottest part of the ride I must admit but a cool can of amber liquid did not touch the sides
